The independent companies brought together groups of investors, or partners, into a contractual arrangement. The Lezar Company is the largest one in this region of the world. The company’s initial capitalization was 400,000 gold crowns, and its current assets are believed to be approaching the 500,000-crown level. The unusual aspect of the company’s situation was that Simon Lezar had secured full control by buying the shares of his other family members. The mystery is how he accumulated the capital to do so. The professional consensus is that he engaged in some sort of wildly successful and definitely illegal shenanigans, but to date, nobody has identified any big score outside of the company’s booked trades.
